Office of Fair Trading has Reorganised

In another Introducer scoop the OFT has today announced a major reorganisation. The OFT has decided that rather than organise itself by legislative area it will be organised by market. I guess this is probably so that they build up specialist departments dealing with specific markets.
The OFT announced in a press release “The new structure will enable us to look more easily at whole markets and to use all the tools available to us to improve them if they are not operating effectively. We will use consumer and competition enforcement, market studies and references, education and communication in whatever combination is appropriate“.
There’s a new organisation chart available on their website. The new structure consists of a top level steering committee, followed by a market facing level consisting of “Policy and Strategy”, “Market and Projects” and “Consumer Advice and Trading Standards (CATS)”. The, presumably internal, Central Services level is broken down into such things as finance, human resources, IT and Communications.
The OFT are recruiting for the position of Director of Market and Projects mentioned above.
